Jeffrey I. Carton of Denlea & Carton LLP served as lead arbitration counsel for United Galaxy Associates, L.L.C. in a breach-of-contract dispute over unpaid consulting and brokerage fees arising from the sale of a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Goldens Bridge, New York, and the related real-property lease. Following a five-day American Arbitration Association hearing, arbitrator Peter L. Altieri issued an April 24, 2018 award directing Estate Motors, Inc. and Charles Buonanno to pay United Galaxy $2,480,000, jointly and severally, plus $3,600 in arbitration expenses, and denying their counterclaims. Carton subsequently represented United Galaxy in the confirmation proceeding before Justice Gretchen Walsh, who confirmed the award on July 20, 2018, and granted statutory post-award interest and court costs.
